Titled Xi Dada Loves Peng Mama, the song tells of the love between the couple, which goes “Xi Dada loves Peng Mama. Their love is like a myth. Peng Mama loves Xi Dada. A nation with love is the strongest.”

When the song was released in an online video on Nov. 18, it became an instant viral hit,_which has been viewed over 40 million times and stirred hot discussion. Many netizens said it?s sweet to listen to the song while seeing such photos, and some believe that the couple sets a good example for China?s young couples.

Theres an old saying, “you are what you eat”. If you look at the average diet, we’re in trouble.

The rise of the society, irregular work hours and a quickening pace of life have led the consumption (消費) of fast food to increase. Nearly one in four of the meals we eat are prepared outside the home and they tend to contain more fat, salt and sugar than the homemade food.

Alongside the negative health outcomes of fast food are the environmental influences of industrialized food production and management of food waste.

Slow Food is a global food network, founded in 1989 in Italy by food activist Carlo Petrini, which has grown to over 100,000 members across 153 countries, including 31 local branches within Australia. Slow food is good, clean and fair food. People who eat slow food believe that the food they eat should taste good; that it should be produced in a clean way that does not harm the environment or our health; and that food producers should receive fair reward for their work.

Slow food movement has arisen to fight against fast food and fast life, by encouraging us to revalue the time we spend in preparing, sharing, and consuming food. It aims to enhance the personal connection between food producers and consumers, and reduce our reliance on mass-produced foods purchased from supermarkets.

It also advocates for environmental agricultural techniques and encourages the reduction of food additives. Perhaps most importantly, it attempts to show how we can revalue the time we spend on food so as to spend in quality food time for our personal (mental and physical) and collective (social, cultural, and environmental) benefits.

Slow Food guides us to take the time to enjoy one of life?s daily pleasures. There?s no doubt that cooking and eating in general is a lot more enjoyable for life when we?re not slaves of time. “Time” serves as a key factor for people?s interest in Slow Food as a form of reasonable consumption, but also a key challenge in terms of adopting a Slow Food lifestyle. And that?s why everybody is always in a hurry, because they don?t actually value that that?s an important thing to stop. Slowing down requires one to spend more time in educating oneself about food and then obtaining ethically produced food

★6.The old saying is mentioned at the beginning of the passage to introduce a topic that ________.

A.our average diet is in danger

B.fast food is a major problem

C.eating affects greatly on our life

D.quickening pace of life ruins our life

  D.develop environmental agriculture techniques

  A.decline B.strengthen

  C.break

9.The main message conveyed in the passage is that ________.

A.Slow Food has grown to be an influential organization

B.Slow Food is a new lifestyle with many benefits for people to follow

C.Slow Food has been accepted and recognized by quantities of people

D.consuming too much fast food may result in negative effects on peoples health

Repeated exposure to social networking sites leaves users with an “identity crisis”, wanting attention in the manner of a baby saying, “Look at me, Mummy, Ive done this.”

Professor Baroness Greenfield believes the growth of internet “friendships”, as well as greater use of computer games, could effectively “rewire” the brain.

This can result in reduced concentration, a need for instant satisfaction on poor non-verbal skills, such as the ability to make eye contact during conversations.

More than 750 million people across the world use Facebook to share photographs and videos and post regular updates of their movements and thoughts. Millions have also signed up to Twitter, the “micro-blogging” service that lets members circulate short text and picture messages about themselves.

Baroness Greenfield said, “What concerns me is the banality of so much that goes out on Twitter.” Why should someone be interested in what someone else has had for breakfast? It reminds me of a small child saying,“Look at me Mummy, I’m doing this.”, “Look at me Mummy, Im doing that.”

“It’s almost as if they’re in some kind of identity crisis.” The academic suggested that some Facebook users feel the need to become “mini-celebrities”, who are watched and admired by others on a daily basis. They do things that are “Facebook worthy” because the only way they can define themselves is by people knowing about them.

“It’s almost as if people are living in a world that’s not a real world, but a world where what counts is what people think of you or (if they) can click on you,” she said.

“Think of the implications for society if people worry more about what other people think about them than what they think about themselves.”

Her views were supported by Sue Palmer, a literary expert and author, who said girls in particular believe they are “goods they must sell to other people” on Facebook.

She said,“People used to have a portrait painted but now we can more or less design our own picture online. It’s like being the star of your own reality TV show that you create and put out to the world.”

10.People who often use Facebook and Twitter will _____________________________.

A.develop strong online friendship with other users

B.improve their ability to focus their attention on things

C.develop non-verbal skills to communicate with each other

D.have a childlike desire for constant feedback on their lives

11.The underlined word “banality” in the passage may mean something that is ________.

  A.dull

  B.interesting

  C.important

  D.serious

★12.The purpose of the passage is ________.

A.to advise people to use less social networking

B.to warn people not to be cheated on Facebook

C.to introduce the functions of Facebook and Twitter

根據文章第二段第一句中“which has been viewed ... hot discussion”和最后一段第四句“We didnt expect that the song would gain so much popularity online.”

根據文章第二段最后一句中“and some believe that the couple sets a good example for Chinas young couples”可推知,許多網民認為習主席及其夫人給中國的年輕夫婦樹立了好的榜樣。

根據第四段最后一句“People who eat ... or our health ...”及第五段第一句“Slow food movement has arisen to fight against fast food and fast life ...”

下一句“Why should someone be ... for breakfast?”
